A record-setting night!
The sun was shining on Saturday, April 18, 2026, as we gathered for the 3rd Annual No Child Hungry Gala & Auction at the Hotel Bellwether. The evening was a sold-out success, marking our largest attendance to date and our most successful fundraiser ever. Together, we raised a record-setting $100,000!
Thank you to our sponsors and to every member of the community who raised a paddle in support of children they may never meet, yet hold close in their hearts.
It was truly a night that celebrated the power of community. From the generosity of our sponsors (listed below), to a surprise $15,000 matching gift, to every donation, large and small, each contribution makes a meaningful difference in a child’s life.
For some, the reality of childhood hunger in our community may come as a surprise; for others, it is a deeply personal experience. Regardless of background, your generosity is creating an impact that goes far beyond providing meals; it offers hope for a brighter future.
We are incredibly proud to have reached our ambitious goal for the evening—especially considering that last year we raised half that amount. Still, it’s important to recognize that $100,000 represents only one-third of what is needed to feed children for an entire year. The work continues, and we remain fully reliant on the support of our community.
Wild Bird operates without state or federal funding. We have no office space, just a P.O. box. Our director earns a part-time salary, and dedicated volunteers pack weekly food bags in a community hall provided free of charge. Thanks to this collective effort, nearly 1,400 children across 49 local schools and preschools receive a weekend food bag each week ... because hunger doesn’t take the weekend off.
Warm regards,
Mark Moder and the Wild Bird Charity Volunteers
